New Years Pet Safety tips

Be careful this New Years with your fur babies! The loud noises of the fireworks at midnight maybe fun for some of us, but our fur babies do not appreciate it. Make sure they are kept inside in a comfortable room away from the sounds of the outside.  Keep a TV or radio on to help block the noise of the fireworks. Also it is vital to make sure their microchip information is up to date just in case they panic and get out of the yard. Many dogs and cats run in a panic when they hear these loud noises, jump fences or dig out and get lost around the holidays that include loud noises. Loud noises will cause extreme fear in dogs and cats.Trembling , whining, panting, pacing, running, digging and jumping fences are all signs of anxiety. Pheromones like Feliway and Adaptil are also good to use to help prevent or lessen their anxieties. In addition, contact your veterinarian to prescribe a medication that will help prevent anxiety.  Have a safe and happy New Years!
